She was born in Olney, IL February 27, 1946 the daughter of Charles D. and Daisy June (Harris) Patridge.
Judy met Charles V. (Chuck) Sharp at age 15 at a roller skating rink and have been together since for over 61 years. They married June 2, 1972 at the Clay City Methodist Church, Clay City Illinois and would have celebrated their 50th anniversary this year.
Surviving are her husband Chuck, her Son, Chad (wife Kristy) Sharp of Green Bay, WI, daughter Jodi (husband Jason) Meyers of Chatham, IL, her six grandchildren: Seth, Kate and Jake Sharp, and Kyla, Cory and Kiara Meyers, her sister, Peggy Hough of Springfield and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step father, Howard Merriman, her brother, Charles (Chuck) Patridge and a beloved grandson, Brendon Meyers.
Judy began her professional career at Ford Printing where she served a dual role as both a bookkeeper and typesetter. She continued her career as a typesetter at the Type House and Typographics and then retired from Bemco Mattress Company as a bookkeeper.
In 1965, Judy became a member of the former Southside Church of the Nazarene that is now the Sherman Church of the Nazarene. She has held several positions within the church including being a member of the church board for over 35 years serving up until she passed away.
In addition to her love for the church, Judy enjoyed vacationing. Her fondest memories and pleasure was to Cruise with her family, followed by spending time in Florida. She loved attending Southern Gospel Concerts, baking with her granddaughters, building puzzles and playing games with family and friends.
Judy’s life did not come to an end with her death. Her family and friends will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest. As much as we will miss her here on earth, we know there are many waiting for her in heaven along with Jesus, whom she has served so faithfully for many years.
In Judy’s typical humble fashion, she did not want to be the center of attention and requested no public funeral services. Cremation Rites will be accorded by the Bisch and Son Crematory and she will be laid to rest at sea. The ocean was always her happy place.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish may direct memorial contributions in Judy’s name to Sherman Church of the Nazarene 7085 Village Center Rd, Sherman, IL 62684.
