Judith Ann “Judy” Jordan, 78, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025. She was preceded in death by her older sister, Elizabeth Farr Jordan; mother, Mary E. “Sugar” Pfeifer; father, Charles E. Jordan; and grandmother, Agnes McGinley.
She is survived by her sister, Jill (Geoff) Tasker of Carbondale, CO; brother, John (Terry) Jordan of Springfield; and younger sister, Barbara Jordan of Ukiah, CA. She is also survived by her caregiver of 36 years, Kristina Kasak and her loving family, Kasak and Meghan. They loved Judy dearly.
Judy was blind and severely handicapped from birth. Concerned about these issues, her parents, Charles E. and Mary “Sugar” Jordan, sought ways to help their daughter. At the time, there were little to no resources available for children with multiple disabilities. In 1957, Hope School was founded by Judy’s parents in order to care for her and children like her.
Judy has always been a sweet child. Like many children, she had many outbursts. Judy’s favorite exclamations were “Milkshake”, “Dr. Dormer”, “Spaghetti?”, and more recently “Mrs. Boyd”. She spent 36 years living with Krissy and her family, and became an integral part of their family. The entire neighborhood knew and loved Judy.
Judy, a sweet, loving woman child, and Hope School, now known as Vision of Hope, have impacted the lives of thousands of children and their families throughout the United States who also have suffered with multiple disabilities.
“Judy’s legacy lives on in the mission of Hope, inspiring us to empower individuals to reach their fullest potential.”
