She was born in Springfield on November 16, 1942, the daughter of John “Ritter” and Nellie (Manning) Dunham.
Judy graduated from Ursuline Academy and earned her associate’s degree from St. John’s School of Nursing. She held nursing positions at various locations including different healthcare facilities and Goodwill Industries. Judy enjoyed politics, gardening, and spending time and traveling with her grandkids. She was a faithful member of Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, John L. Ansell; sisters, Rita Blasko, Jean Delaney, Mary Agnes “Midge” Langfelder, and Margaret Lemanski; and brothers, John, Peter, and James Dunham.
Judy is survived by her sons, Oscar Ansell, Jr. and Thomas (Elizabeth) Ansell, both of Springfield, and Peter (Jennifer) Ansell of Cedarburg, WI; daughter-in-law, Mei Huey Su Ansell of Torrence, CA; grandchildren, Hunter Ansell, Alyson Ansell, Gabrielle Asbrock, Isabella Ansell, and Benjamin Ansell; great-grandchildren, Sienna and Luca Ansell, and Jonathan Hurshman; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation and Mass of Christian Burial: Family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m.- 10:15 a.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 524 E. Lawrence Ave., Springfield, with Mass following at 10:30 a.m.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception or Goodwill Industries.
