Joyce Ann Grant

Joyce Ann Grant, 68, of Pleasant Plains, passed away on July 16, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born on May 24, 1953 in Jacksonville, IL., to Richard and Beulah Birdsell Koehne. Joyce married Richard D. “Rich” Grant on November 25, 1972 in Tallula and he preceded her in death on September 12, 2006.

Mrs. Grant is survived by three daughters: Heather (Chris) Reid of Pleasant Plains, Melissa (Jeff) Cox of Virginia, IL., and Michelle (Curtis Mefford) Cable of Pleasant Plains, her father Richard Koehne of Pleasant Plains and five grandchildren: Grant and Owen Reid, Maddie and Kali Ray and Emma Cable and one sister Wanda Bloomfield. She was preceded in death by her mother Beulah Koehne and stepmother Mardelle Wade Koehne.

Joyce worked as a beautician for many years and she later retired from the Illinois Secretary of State as a motor vehicle cashier after over twenty years of service. She enjoyed her many Florida beach vacations, the Chicago Cubs and basket making with her sisters-in-law. Joyce attended Capital Baptist Church in Jerome and treasured spending time with family.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm on Tuesday July 20, 2021 at Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 Koke Mill Road, with burial to follow at Pleasant Plains Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 10:00am until the time of service Tuesday at Bisch West.
