He is survived by his parents, brother James Baker (Christina) of St. Louis, Missouri, and sister Julianne Wolverton (Jacob) of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Joseph has a niece, Livia Baker and a nephew, Desmond Baker that live in St. Louis, Missouri. Joseph has a nephew Roman who lives in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Joseph’s Uncles Bruce Price, Jeff Price, and Michael Price reside in Louisville, Kentucky and Stephen Baker (Carolyn) lives in Forsyth, Missouri. His Aunt Kathleen Fister (Greg) and Pat Buettner live in St. Louis, Missouri. His Aunt Suzanne Torano resides in Miami, Florida and aunt Joan Price lives in Arizona. He is blessed with Great Aunts: Eileen Dwyer, Lilian Saufnauer, Joan Schmidt, Patricia Schmidt and Madonna Lawrence. Joseph is blessed with many cousins including Meghann Baker, Bob Baker, Matthew Baker, Colleen McElroy, Eric Theby, Shaun Theby, Nicholas Cody, Aaron Buettner, Kyle Cody, Daniel Torano, and Michelle Rowan. Joseph is preceded in death by grandparents William and Mary Price of Louisville, Kentucky, Thomas and Bette Cody of St. Louis, Missouri and Uncles Jack Cody (Linda) Cody of St. Louis, Missouri and WIlliam R. Price, Jr. of Louisville, Kentucky.
Joseph graduated from Springfield High School in 2006 and he completed credits for his Associates Degree at Lincoln Land Community College. He earned the prestigious Eagle Scout Rank in the Boy Scouts of America as a member of Troop 36. In high school, Joseph made it to the state finals in the Illinois Junior Academy of Science State Fair. He has always had a strong interest in sciences including Biology, Chemistry, Astronomy, Neuroscience, and Psychology. Joseph had training in classical piano and spent many years playing trumpet in the school band.
The family will greet friends from 3:00 pm until 5:00pm on Sunday September 10, 2023 at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 East Allen Street. A prayer service will be held at 10:00am on Monday September 11, 2023 at Bisch and Son.
