Jack was born in Springfield, January 15, 1939 the son of John E. and Carrie Mae (Seiz) McMillan Sr.
Jack was a collector of many things, but most enjoyed Ferguson Tractors and his 1930 Ford Model A. He also enjoyed time spent with family and friends at his cabin at Patterson Bay, boating on the Illinois River, working in his shop on anything he could fix and participating in Vintage Ag Shows. He was well known for his annual weenie roast and his New Years Day Ham and Beans Party. He was a heating and cooling technician by profession, retiring from Punzak in Springfield and a 50 year member of the Plumber and Steamfitters Union Local 137. Jack served in the Illinois Air National Guard.
Surviving are his children: Todd (wife Connie) McMillan of Pleasant Plains, IL, Brian (wife Sheri) McMillan of Kingwood, TX and Eric (wife Joanie) McMillan of Springfield. He has 8 grandchildren: Amy (Kirk) Metzger, Jake, Luke, Amanda (Philip) Waggoner, Josh (Brandy), Ben (Taylor), Lanie and Megan McMillan. He has 7 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his two sisters; Lucille Kinner and Mary Ann (Donald) Reed both of Pleasant Plains and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by both parents; brother in-law William Kinner and his nephew Tom Reed.
Visitation: The McMillan family will greet family and friends from 4-7 pm Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Bisch Funeral Home West 2931 S. Koke Mill Rd. Springfield, IL
Funeral Service: Jack’s funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Friday, September 25, 2015 at the funeral home with Rev. Lonna Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Farmington Cemetery, west of Springfield.
