

John T. 'Trig' Frasco, 89, of Springfield, died at 5:56 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2007 at St. John’s Hospice. He was born on June 24, 1917 in Riverton, the son of Nunzio and Diletta Antonacci Frasco. He married Alice A. Bell on February 24, 1940 in St. Louis, MO; she preceded him in death on August 25, 2003. He was a WWII U.S. Merchant Marine Veteran. He was employed at Friendly Chevrolet as a body mechanic and also as a union carpenter for various companies including his own, Frasco Builders. Trig was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Carpenter’s Union Local 16, Roman Cultural Society and Knights of Columbus Council 364. He was also preceded in death by six siblings. He is survived by two sons: Lynn A. (wife, Judy) Frasco of Springfield and Patrick T. (wife, Linda) Frasco of Alma, MI; one daughter: Geraldine Robson Surface of Largo, FL; nine grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren; two sisters: Celia Frasco Ackerman of Springfield and Gilda “Jill” Frasco of Springfield and numerous nieces and nephews. The family welcomes friends to visit from from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2007 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. A prayer service will be held at 4:30 p.m. with Rev. David Hoefler presiding. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1725 S. Walnut, Springfield, with Reverend Richard Chiola celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1725 S. Walnut, Springfield, IL 62704. The family of John T. 'Trig' Frasco is being served by Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield.
