John Danko

John Danko, 79, of Springfield, died at 5:00 p.m., Saturday, June 11, 2005 at St. John’s Hospital. John was born July 14, 1925 in Springfield the son of Andrew and Anna Majercin Danko. He married Juanita Lucy Wunderlich, June 5, 1948 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mr. Danko was a Chef, he worked for Leland Hotel for 20 years, Mansion View and Holiday Inn South for a few years and lastly with Holiday Inn East for 20 years and he retired in 1990. He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters: Mary Nebuloni, Anne Mattis and Susan Danko. He is survived by his wife, Juanita of Springfield and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 5-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, June 16, 2005 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 2119 N. 20th St. Springfield with Very Rev. Thomas Liebler, V.F. celebrant. Burial will follow at Rochester Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 2119 N. 20th St. Springfield, IL 62702.
