Jimmie Lyons, Sr.

Jimmie was born on September 2, 1962, in Springfield, the son of Eldon Lyons, Sr. and Janet Ferguson Lyons. He married Shari L. Standage on July 31, 2004.

Jimmie attended PORTA Junior and Senior High School. He worked for Calvary Cemetery. Jimmie enjoyed working on cars and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his wife, Shari L. Lyons of Springfield; two sons, Jimmie Lee Lyons, Jr. of Springfield and Joseph M. (wife, Michelle) Lyons, Sr. of Taylorville; grandchildren, Audrianna, Joseph, Jr., Jordan, Mia, Jackson, and Mark; his mother, Janet (husband, Ed) Ramsey of Springfield; six siblings, Russell Lyons, Debbie (husband, David) Lash, Connie Lyons, Eldon Lyons, Jr. Jeffrey Lyons, and Greg (wife, Dana) Lyons; one aunt, Marsha (husband, Joe) Leavitt; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Boardman Smith Funeral Home, 800 S. Grand Ave. West, Springfield, IL 62704.

Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following ceremonies.
