Jim Irvin

Thomas James "Jim" Irvin, Jr., 66, of Springfield, died at 9:40 p.m. on Monday, January 5, 2015 at Heritage Health. Jim was born April 11, 1948 in Springfield, the son of Thomas James and Betty Burge Irvin. Jim loved cooking, watching COPS and old westerns, eating wedding cake, Cher, and collected Indian artifacts. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Maria Sheppard and Donna Davis. He is survived by one son, Thomas James Irvin III (fiancee', Kayla Everett) of Chatham; one daughter, Brandy Andrews of Norffolk, VA; five grandchildren; ten siblings, Patty Irvin (wife, Neala Martin) of Chatham, Rebecca (husband, Larry) Wieties of Springfield, Randy Irvin of Keenesburg, CO, Richard Irvin of Keenesburg, CO, Christina Harvey of Decatur, Tim Irvin of Berlin, Benjamin (wife, Vinessa) Irvin of Aurora, CO, Kelli Irvin of Edinburg, Janice Grant of Springfield, and Judith (husband, David) Brickey of Rochester; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Private family ceremonies were held. Memorial contributions may be made to a veteran's organization of the donor's choice.
