Janet passed away Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Springfield Memorial Hospital after a brief battle with stage 4 cancer.
She was born on July 28, 1953, in Quincy, IL, to Floyd and Dorothy (Hardey) Jackson.
Janet graduated in 1971 from PORTA High School in Petersburg, IL. Janet operated a successful housecleaning business. She took great pride in her exemplary work ethic and later when becoming a homeowner in the village of Jerome. Throughout her life, she was the ultimate animal lover, caring for numerous pets. Each one enjoyed a better life because of her endless compassion. To all who knew her, she was a passionate and strong-willed person. She lived life to the fullest and loved her music - the louder, the better.
She is survived by two sisters, Joyce Warfield (spouse, Earl Douglas) of Dawson, IL, and Diane Stinebaker (spouse, Timothy - deceased) of Springfield, IL; and several cousins and close friends.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents; and brother-in-law, Tim.
Memorial contributions are encouraged to be made to American Cancer Society or Animal Protective League (APL) in Springfield, IL.
The family is being served by Butler Funeral Home- Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
Private graveside services for family and close friends will be held at Roselawn Cemetery.
