Obituary
James T. “Red” Williamson, 72, of Staunton, Illinois, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 5:19 PM at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois. He was born September 1, 1938 in Jacksonville, Illinois to the Late Mr. & Mrs. Thomas Williamson. He married Dorcas D. Yaeger on February 11, 1960 in Senatobia, Mississippi and she survives. He was a Funeral Director, Owner, and Operator & Senior Partner at Williamson Funeral Homes, LTD in Staunton & Worden, Illinois for many years. He retired in 1999. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Staunton; Staunton Volunteer Fire Department; Secretary of Memorial Park Cemetery Board for 35 years; past member of Community Memorial Hospital Board of Directors & past member of Staunton Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife Dorcas Williamson of Staunton, IL; 4 children – Tim (Wendy) Williamson of Staunton, IL; Lori (Ken) Eckhardt of Hopedale, IL; Jamie (Karl) Hadjan of Staunton, IL; and James T. Williamson Jr. (Cleda Parker) of Springfield, IL; 11 grandchildren – Andrea M. Williamson, Amanda (Chad) Dugger, Meghan L. Williamson, Lindsay (Matthew) Tarantino, Josh Eckhardt, Rachel & Zach Hadjan, Kaytie, Kyle, Matthew, & Marri Williamson; 2 great-grandchildren – Aubrey & Carson Dugger; 1 sister – Marsha (Ed) Tucker of Staunton, IL; 1 sister-in-law Joan B. Yaeger of Staunton, IL; 1 brother-in-law Charles Goebel (Carolyn Johnson) of Staunton, IL. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by 1 sister – Sandra Mae Williamson; 1 sister-in-law Tammy Goebel; and 1 brother-in-law Richard Yaeger.
Services
Remains were cremated. Visitation will be Friday, August 19, 2011 from 4 to 7:30 PM at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton. A Memorial Service will follow at 7:30 PM at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton. Memorials are suggested to Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton.
