James "Jim" Frank Krell

Jim was born June 20, 1949, in Springfield, the son of Loren Robert and Janet Irene Klamm Krell. He married Kathi D. Sours on September 12, 1983, in Springfield, IL.

Jim was employed with Kroger for 12 years and then for Underfanger Moving and Storage (Mayflower) for 24 years until his retirement in 2010. He attended First Church of the Nazarene. Jim loved to travel and had been to all 50 states, Mexico, and all over Europe. He loved to go on cruises and was the happiest when he was traveling. Jim also enjoyed bowling and working in his yard.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert G. Krell.

Jim is survived by his wife, Kathi Krell of Springfield; son, Eric (wife, Rebecca) Krell of Tucson, AZ; stepson, David Beja of Springfield; grandchildren, Elia Krell and Adam and Olivia Beja; sister, Janet (husband, Victor) Crawford of Schram City, IL; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, IL.

Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 14, 2023, at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield with Rev. Ben Alexander officiating.

Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.

Family will host a Celebration of Life from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 14, 2023 at King Pin Lanes, 3115 East Sangamon Ave., Springfield, IL.
