He is survived by his wife Pamela; a brother Charles of Springfield, two step-sons, Scott (Catherine) Davis of Boerne, TX and Brian (Amanda) Davis of Chatham, IL. He also leaves seven grandchildren, Braden, Cole, Drew, and Emma of Boerne, TX, and Victoria, William, and Elizabeth of Chatham, IL.
Eddie was born in Kansas City, MO and graduated from Urbana High School in Illinois. He served his country in the United States Army with the 1st Battalion, 321st Artillery, 101st Airborne Division during 1968 and 1969. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and the Army Commendation Medal.
Eddie attended Parkland College and graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a BSBA. He worked for the state of Illinois as a computer programmer and finished his career as a Systems Section Administrator in the Illinois Lead Program Division of Environmental Health.
Eddie enjoyed traveling with his wife and was able to explore Ireland, England, Wales, Scotland, New Zealand, Australia, and Mexico.
Eddie was an animal lover and asked that memorial donations be sent to the APL (Animal Protective League), 1001 Taintor Rd, Springfield, IL 62702.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch Funeral Home West, Springfield. The family will hold a private burial at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield.
