Irvin Duane Parrish, 73, of Springfield, passed away at 11:50 a.m. on Monday, July 6, 2010 at Memorial Medical Center. Irvin was born January 17, 1937 in Clinton, the son of Ervin and Ethel Williams Parrish. He married Jo Challans on October 23, 1973 in Pana. Irvin graduated from Macon High School in 1955 where he excelled in track and baseball. After graduating from high school, he joined the Illinois National Guard where he was activated for two years at Scofield Barracks in Oshu, HI. He worked as an accountant for Public Finance Corp, Standard Oil division of Amoco Oil Co. and Conseco Insurance Co. where he retired from in 2002. He was preceded in death by his parents; baby brother, Archie Darrell Parrish and a sister, Audrey D. Newsham. He is survived by his wife, Jo of Springfield; three sons, Bill DeBrun and Joe (wife, Cathy) DeBrun of Springfield and Dan (wife, Sandy) Parrish of Auburn; one daughter, Renee Borell of Denver, Co; five grandchildren, Taryn DeBrun and friend, Adam, Adam and Nathaniel Parrish and Logan and Kassidy Borell; Niece, Kim (husband, Mike) Hart of Decatur and nephew, Kevin (wife, Tammy) Newsham of Decatur. A funeral ceremony and burial will be held at a later date with military honors.
