Services celebrating her life will be at 11:00 am Thursday, July 31, 2008 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Springfield. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, St. John’s Lutheran Church or donor’s choice.
Ione was born in Kempster, WI on April 21, 1920 the daughter of John Edward and Mea Johnson. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Springfield. She held many offices and was very active in the Beta Sigma Phi, Laurete Gamma Epsilon master chapter since 1981. She married Kenneth Dugan March 28, 1942 and together they owned and operated Kenny’s Tropical Fish & Pet Supplies for 40 years. She was an employee of Marine Bank for 10 years.
Ione is survived by her sisters, Geraldine “Toot” Mueller and Edith Bork both of Clintonville, WI, Margaret Saul of Shawano, WI and brother, Walter “Bud” Johnson of Neenah, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister, her husband and their daughter Susan Dugan.
She will be missed by her family and many friends, nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. A special friend Bobby Buscher of Springfield and a niece Carolyn Barker of Shelbyville, IL.
The family greatly appreciates the kind caring comfort of the staff of Regency that was given to Ione and her family and a special thank you to Dr. Nenaber for his wonderful care and concern.
