Ilda Anne Meyers Goin, 87, of Springfield, passed away on Wednesday April 30, 2014 at her residence. She was born on October 21, 1926 in Centralia, IL., to Raymond Edward and Nina May Stonecipher Krutsinger. She married Gene Meyers in Detroit, MI., on March 24, 1950 and they later divorced.
Anne is survived by her three sons: David (Linda) Meyers of Sedalia, Colorado, Daniel (Tami) Meyers of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Darrell Meyers of Springfield, five grandchildren including Jeannie Meyers who loved and cared for her in her final years and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters.
Anne started her fifty one year nursing career as a Cadet Nurse during World War II in Champaign. She continued nursing at Burnham Hospital in Champaign, Memorial Medical Center, and was employed by Dr. Kohlstedt in Springfield. Anne spent nineteen years as an Industrial Nurse with Allis-Chalmers and Fiat-Allis before working for the State of Illinois as a Health Facility Surveillance Nurse doing inspections of Care (IOC) for the Department of Public Health. The last eleven years of her career Anne worked with the Department of Public Aid as a Nurse Arbitrator in Long Term Care. She played the accordion and loved big band music.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30am on Monday May 5, 2014 at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 East Allen, with a graveside service to follow at 1:30pm at Hillcrest Cemetery in Centralia, IL. The family will meet friends from 9:30am until the time of service Monday at the funeral home.
