Helen P. Sample, 93, of Sherman died at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, October 9, 2003 at Memorial Medical Center. Helen was born March 17, 1910 in Cantrall, the daughter of Albert and Johanna Aylward Timlick. She married Ralph Sample, August 13, 1927 in Springfield; he preceded her in death in 1965. Mrs. Sample was employed as a supervisor for the City of Springfield and a former member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. She was also preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and three sisters. She is survived by one son: Rhett (wife, Myra) Sample of Auburn; one daughter: Patricia (husband, John) Kristoff of Springfield; two grandchildren: Teresa Sample of Belleville, Rhett (wife, Aimee) Sample, Jr. of Springfield; one great granddaughter: Estella Marie Sample of Springfield and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home from 4-7:00 p.m. Monday, October 13, 2003. Visitation will end with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2003 at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception with Rev. Msgr. John R. Ossola celebrant.
