Helen C. Fifer-Pickerites, 89, of Springfield, passed away at 9:45 p.m., November 5, 2001 at Oak Terrace Healthcare Center. She was born October 14, 1912 the daughter of Alex and Mary Yanorofsky Witcuskie in Shenandoah, PA. She married William Fifer and he preceded her in death in 1964. She then married Tony Pickerites and he also preceded her in death in 1975. She was a member of St. Agnes Church and was a homemaker. She was also a member of the Lithuanian American Club and enjoyed traveling. Mrs. Fifer-Pickerites was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter: Jean Durr; four sisters: Isabelle Witcuskie, Anne Scrivner, Stella Stuper, and Mary Winters. She is survived by one daughter: Betty Bell of Nashville, TN; two sons: William (wife, Karen) C. and Kenneth (wife, Shirley) W. Fifer both of Springfield; one sister: Katsie Davis of Springfield; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, November 9, 2001. Funeral Services will be at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home on Saturday, November 10, 2001 at 11 a.m. with the Very Rev. Patrick Wright VF officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
