Grant L. Fowler, 82, of Springfield, passed away at 6:13 p.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at St. Johns Hospital. Grant was born on June 1, 1936 in Rushville, the son of James and Gwendolyn Hess Fowler. Grant served his country in the United States Army. He was a barber for Capitol City Barbershop for 55 years and was a member of the Elks Club. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his son, Brian (wife, Annette) Fowler of Dallas, Texas; one daughter, Christina Renee Fowler; two grandchildren, Brilyn Fowler and Graham Noltkamper; and one sibling, Norma Boyles. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Private Graveside Ceremony will be held at a later date.
