She was born on March 13, 1975, the daughter of Dr. Glennon and Jeanette Schroeder Paul. She married Scott A. McGill on November 27, 2021 at West Side Christian Church. She was so loved by her parents, her 10 brothers and sisters, her husband, her students, and friends. All of her nieces and nephews considered her one of their favorite Aunts.
Ginger graduated from Springfield High School with the class of 1993, and later earned her bachelor’s degree in special education from MacMurray College. She taught in the special education program in District 186 for over ten years. She found her home base at Springfield High School as a teacher and was loved by all her students. She dedicated herself to them all day long. Ginger was also a caregiver to many through Home Instead. She was a faithful member of West Side Christian Church. Ginger had the biggest heart and loved everyone she met. She had a contagious smile and the biggest laugh. She always gave of herself fully. She would be the first one to raise her hand to volunteer and would offer the shirt off her back if needed. She volunteered regularly for her church and for Springfield High School. Ginger was a gallon blood donor over and over. Ginger loved to have fun. She loved playing tiles and cards with her Mom, sisters and friends. She loved crafting and making things for others. Ginger never missed a party. Time spent with family and friends was her favorite past time. She enjoyed reading, especially Harry Potter. She loved watching The Big Bang Theory and any sport with her husband. She took exceptional pleasure when the Cubs would lose to the Cardinals with her husband by her side. Ginger was a blessing to everyone she met.
