She was born in Peoria on February 6, 1959, the daughter of Jimmie M. and Roberta Lee Cowling Davis.
Ginger attended Abingdon High School and Carl Sandburg College. She loved spending her time reading, gardening, cooking and baking, feeding the neighborhood cats, and drinking ice cold Coca-Cola. Ginger loved raising and spending time with her children and family. She worked with numerous investment firms throughout her life.
Ginger was known by those around her for her strong will, dedication to her children, humor and quick wit. She was always there for those around her, and put her children before anything in life. Ginger was the person you wanted in your life – always calm and collected on the outside, yet thinking of everyone around her. If you were lucky enough to be close to her, she would share a quick wit comment with you and make the room laugh hysterically.
But most of all, her children, Maddie and Davis were the light of her world. She was the most devoted and dedicated mother, always putting her children first. Whether it was sporting events, homemade meals with wonderful desserts, or kids running in and out of her home, she was happy to welcome you. As long as you took your shoes off at the door.
Ginger was classy, strong, witty and intelligent. She passed along a sense of resilience and capability to her most beloved – Maddie and Davis. She loved fiercely and fully. Not a day went by that she didn’t do her very best to live life to the fullest.
She was preceded in death by her mother; and infant sister, Jenny Davis.
Ginger is survived by her father, Jim; son, Davis (fiancé, Megan Hascall) Walsh; daughter, Madigan Walsh; and siblings, Martin (Maria) and Derry (Lorrie) Davis; and nieces and nephews.
