Georgia L. Page, 91, of Raleigh, North Carolina, formerly of Springfield, Gibson City, and Cambridge, IL, passed away May 21, 2012 in North Carolina. Georgia was born September 21, 1920 in Pleasant Township, the daughter of George and Fannie (Bucher) Stambaugh. She graduated with a Bachelors in Education from Western Illinois University in 1941, and with a Masters in Special Education from the University of Illinois in 1966. She worked as a teacher for the Gibson City School District for 19 years. Georgia married Warren Page on December 28, 1941 in Fulton County, IL. They shared 67 years together until he preceded her in death on November 8, 2009. Georgia was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be remembered for her skills as a cook, seamstress, as well as the person with the patience to fix anything. She will especially be remembered for the bread she made using the cultured yeast passed down from her mother, and her delicious cinnamon rolls. She and Warren spent their retirement years playing golf in Arizona and Illinois with friends, and traveling to visit their sons and their families. She was a member of First Christian Church in Springfield, and of the Delta Gamma Society. Georgia is survived by her sons; Warren L (Janet) Page of Snellville, GA, Jay P (Jill) Page of Raleigh, NC, 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, her sister Mable Bowman of Canton, IL, and several nieces and nephews. As well as her husband Warren she is preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers and 8 sisters. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 3 pm, at Bisch & Son Funeral Home, 505 E Allen St. Springfield, IL, 62703,with Dr. Hugh Reynolds conducting the service.
