Finnegan Patrick Grady

Finnegan Patrick Grady, 3, of Springfield, earned his angel wings at 11:15 p.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 as he passed peacefully at his home in the arms of his parents. Finnegan was born January 28, 2006, in Springfield, the son of David and Holly Flynn Grady. Finnegan loved playing with his backpack full of Thomas Trains. He also enjoyed driving his John Deere Gator throughout his cul-de-sac. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Thomas Flynn; and his great grandparents, Ralph and Betty McConathy, William and Bess Flynn and Edmund and Meri Grady. He is survived by his parents, David and Holly Grady of Springfield; two sisters, Madison and his (twin) Fiona Grady of Springfield; his Pa-pa and Grammy, Patrick and Elizabeth "Betty" Grady of Springfield; his Mimi, Debbie Flynn of Springfield; great grandparents, Edmund and Laura Fruin of Springfield; three aunts, Kelly Flynn of Chicago, Cindy (husband, Kirk) Hamilton of Springfield and Missy (husband, Paul) Grussenmeyer of Springfield; several great aunts and uncles; and cousins, Riley, Keegan, Vincent and Ruby. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 7:00p.m. on Sunday, November 29, 2009 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1930 Barberry Dr., Springfield. The visitation will begin with a prayer service at 3:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 30, 2009 at Christ the King Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. David S. Lantz, celebrant. A private family burial will follow. Memorial contributions may be made to Finnegan's Fund, c/o UCB Bank, 1900 W. Iles, Springfield, IL 62704. Funds will be distributed to children's cancer research funds.
