Felix John Golab, 62, of Riverton, died on Saturday, August 4, 2007 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born on April 16, 1945 in Springfield, the son of John Jacob and Viola M. Reid Golab. He married Patricia Duknoski on July 20, 1968 at St. James Church in Riverton. Felix attended Sand Hill Elementary School and graduated from Lanphier High School in Springfield. He retired in May 1998 after thirty-five years of service as an Engineering Technician with the Illinois Department of Transportation. He had recently been employed as an Engineering Technician with Greene & Bradford, Inc. Felix enjoyed traveling, especially taking trips to Branson, Missouri. He also enjoyed polka music and played the drums in several bands. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; one son: Scott A. (wife, Lisa) Golab of Belleville; two daughters: Sarah A. Golab of Granite City and Laura S. Golab of Jacksonville and one grandson: Ryan M. Golab of Jacksonville. Cremation accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. A Memorial Gathering will be held from 4:00 p.m. until the time of prayers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
