Evelyn Ruth Williams

She was born on July 29, 1920, in Sioux City, IA, and was raised in Wisconsin by her parents, the late Edward and Mary (Kviz) Reidle. She married John Freml in 1940, who preceded her in death. She later married Henry Williams, who also preceded her in death. Additionally, her sister Beverly Martel, and several other extended family members, have previously departed this life.

Mrs. Williams worked as a telephone operator for Illinois Bell Telephone. Prior to that, she was manager of the Catalog Department at JCPenney. She was a member of Lincoln Land Baptist Church in Springfield.

She is survived by 5 children: Mary E. Freml of Springfield, Susan A. Jones of Springfield, Sally E. (husband Craig) Hollett of Santa Fe Springs, CA, Barbara J. (husband Robert) Stults of Springfield, and Thomas J. Freml of Springfield; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; a nephew; several cousins; and other extended family.

Services are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen, Springfield. Per her wishes, cremation rites were accorded. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at Lincoln Land Baptist Church in Springfield.
