

Etta Mae Edwards Lionts, 79, of Springfield, died at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at her home tended by her family. Etta was born February 6, 1930 in Loami, the daughter of Earl and Dorothy White Dodd. She married Cecil `Cub Edwards; he preceded her in death. She then married Ira A. Lionts; he also preceded her in death. Etta graduated from Auburn High School in 1948. She was a homemaker and factory worker. She was a member of the Loami United Methodist Church and enjoyed clipping newspaper articles, scrapbooking, and being creative. She is also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Lucille and Earlene and a brother, Bob. She is survived by a son, Danny Edwards of O'Fallon, MO; three daughters, Joan Rouse and Beverly Edwards both of Springfield and Dorothy Edwards of Hannibal, MO; three step-children, Ira Lionts of Franklin, Larry (Chris) Lionts of Loami and Vicki Kitsch of Springfield; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four sisters, Carol (John) Nation of Loami, Eileen (John) Funk of Abingdon, Nancy (Carl) Belcher of Shelbina, MO and Betty (Lou) Gray of Columbia, MO; four brothers, Charles (Mary) Dodd and Bill (Kenna) Dodd all of Shelbina, MO, John Dodd of Columbia, MO and Jesse Dodd of Buffalo, OK; and many nieces and nephews. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. A memorial ceremony will be announced by the family and held at a later date.
