Esther was born February 6, 1946, in Sioux City, IA, the daughter of Clyde F. and Ethel A. McGuire Dean. She married Paul E. Burchett on September 22, 1961, in Rome, NY.
Esther earned her GED in Champaign, IL in December of 1987 and was employed with Butler School as a cook for eight years. She previously worked for several local restaurants, including Cracker Barrel for five years, Olive Garden for five years, and the Hen House for five years. Esther was a member of Grace Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, taking care of her home, and watching soap operas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Perry F. Dean and Clyde “Frank” Dean; and sister, Judith C. Clark.
Esther is survived by her husband, Paul E. Burchett of Springfield; son, Paul E. Burchett, II of Lincoln, IL; daughters, Brenda K. Burchett of Champaign, IL, Mary S. Burchett of Springfield, and Lori A. (Doug) Badgley of Buffalo, IL; grandchildren, Blake Owen Badgley of Lincoln, IL and Samantha Renae Badgley of Buffalo, IL; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 9:30 – 10:15 a.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. A Funeral Ceremony will follow at 10:30 a.m. with Thad Peacock officiating.
Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
