Emil F. "Butch" Krone Jr., 79, of New Berlin, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2013, at Memorial Medical Center. Butch was born on November 9, 1933 in Springfield, the son of Emil F. Krone Sr, and Elsie (Haught) Krone. Butch graduated from New Berlin High School in 1951. He spent his life working his family's farm. Butch also owned and operated Yesterday's Treasures at Lisa's II Antique Mall in Auburn, was a member of the Land of Lincoln Depression Glass Club, and a member of the 35mm Camera Club of Springfield. It was at the camera club where he met the love of his life, and wife of 50 years, Jacqueline Whynot. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Butch enjoyed studying and learning about history, especially the WWII era of American History. Butch also shared his love of old cars with his son Frank.
Butch is survived by his wife Jacquie Krone, his son Frank (wife Jane) Krone, a grandson Derek, a brother Clarence (wife Eunie) Krone, sister-in-law, Mary Krone, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as his little canine buddy Scooter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers: Fred (wife Dorothy) Krone, Harry (wife Stella) Krone, Robert Krone, Raymond Krone, his sisters: Gladys Krone, and Vi (husband Irv) Van Dyke.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 S. Koke Mill Rd. Springfield, IL, 62711. Where a visitation will be held on Thursday, June 27, from 4-7pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 28, at 10 am at the funeral home with Pastor Jon Berg of Atonement Lutheran Church conducting the services. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
