Elsie R. Greene

Elsie R. Greene, 84, of Springfield, passed away on Wednesday May 3, 2017 at Oak Terrace Nursing Home. She was born on March 30, 1933 in Springfield to Raymond and Rose Beamer Ebner. Elsie married James A. Greene in Springfield on July 4, 1952 and he preceded her in death in September of 2005.

Mrs. Greene is survived by her son James A. Greene II of Springfield, four grandchildren: Jamie, Jaclyn, and Jessica (Dennis Wood) Greene all of Springfield, and Jeffery Reale of Rantoul, six great-grandchildren: Alina, Ally, Vincent, Giovanni, Sydney, and Irelyn and her son-in-law John (Ann) Reale Jr., of Rantoul. She was preceded in death by her daughter Barbara A. Reale and one brother John Ebner.

Elsie worked for the State of Illinois Department of Revenue during the tax season for over twenty years. She cherished her time spent with her family especially her beloved grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Monday May 8, 2017 at Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 Koke Mill Road, with burial to follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
