Elizabeth Jane Bodamer

Elizabeth Jane Bodamer, 82, of Petersburg, passed away on Friday June 20, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born on January 15, 1932 in Gilbertsville, New York to Walter J. and Doris Jean Roberts Graig. She married William Bodamer on July 5, 1958 in Yonkers, New York, at Westminster Presbyterian Church and he survives.

She is also survived by three daughters: Michelle (Bill) Nicol of Springfield, Lesley (Greg) Rodell of Colorado, and Lisa Kida of Pennsylvania, one son Jonathan (Companion Tara) Bodamer of California, one sister Jean Graig of New York, five grandchildren: Lauren Bodamer of Decatur, IL., and Jillian, Lindsay, Jessica, and Megan Kida all of Pennsylvania, two great-grandchildren: Logan Miley and Noah Bodamer, one niece Cindy Spera, and one nephew Glenn Bilane. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Walter and Paul Graig.

Jane was a graduate of Wilson College and City College of New York. She taught English in Yonkers schools and in Decatur, Illinois. She was a teacher who helped her students in special ways. During her life Jane gave constant support to her husband and children and she was always looking to help people in need. Her family feels blessed and fortunate to have spent so many wonderful years together.

Private family services will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery Mausoleum.
