Earl "Doc" Redpath, 50, of Williamsville, died at 6:14 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at St. John's Hospital. Earl was born May 6, 1958 in Springfield, the son of Donald E. and Celeste Y. (Dove) Redpath, Sr. He married Carol Ashbaugh on May 21, 1989 in Springfield. Earl graduated from Lanphier High School and attended Lincoln Land Community College. He began his employment with CWLP in 1978 where he was employed as a maintenance supervisor. Earl was a member of the Army National Guard. He was very involved with the Friend-in-Deed organization on Food Team B. He was a member of Masonic Springfield Lodge #4 AF and AM, Scottish Rite and Knights of Columbus #4175 and a past member of Eagle FOE 437. Earl belonged to the Sherman Athletic Club and coached for the Williamsville Jr. football league and Williamsville boys baseball, Riverton girls softball and Fairview boys baseball leagues. He was a member of St. Aloysius Church. Earl was a good-hearted, fun-loving guy who never met a stranger. He always had a smile and lived everyday to its fullest. He was involved in his children's activities and would frequently lend a hand to help out with whatever those around him were doing. Earl loved camping, canoeing, building fires, working on house projects and riding horses, and will be missed by his horse, Jerry. He also enjoyed music and playing the harmonica. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald E. Redpath, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Carol Redpath of Williamsville; two sons, Garrett and Seth Redpath both of Williamsville; two daughters, Jessica (husband, Ed) Casey and Emily Redpath both of Williamsville; a granddaughter, Skyler Casey of Williamsville; three brothers, Louis (wife, Laura) Redpath, III, Chuck (wife, Bambi) Redpath and Michael Redpath all of Springfield; five sisters, Gladys "Sue" (husband, Greg) Renaud of Aurora, Karen (husband, Bill) Becker, Sharon (husband, Danny) Paoni, Catherine (husband, Ron) Mumaw and Retha (husband, Jim) Riemer all of Springfield; sister-in-law, Sandra K. Redpath of Springfield; and many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 4:00 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral ceremonies will be at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Vaughn Beeman officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery where military honors will be provided by the Department of Defense. Memorial contributions may be made to Carol Redpath to be used at the family's discretion.
