E. Duane Lee

E. Duane Lee, 69, of Petersburg, passed away at 9:15 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center. Duane was born August 13, 1944 in Bloomington, the son of Orville and Kathryn Bosaw Lee. He married Jeanne Runyon on April 20, 1968 in Green Valley. Duane proudly served our country in the United States Air Force for 13 years. He was an active retiree and enjoyed golfing. He was an avid western fan and enjoyed the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Megan Benson. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Lee of Petersburg; one son, Alan (wife, Jeannie) Lee of Farmington, IL; one daughter, Shawna (husband, Jason) Wright of Omaha, NE; three grandchildren, Kyle Benson, Brandie Benson, and A.J. Wright; one great-grandchild on the way; one brother, Roger (wife, Debbie) Lee of Mossville, IL; one sister, Sharon Tippey of Green Valley, IL; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside Ceremony: 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Camp Butler National Cemetery, 5063 Camp Butler Rd., Springfield with military honors provided by the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County and the Department of Defense.
