Dorothy Anita Allison, 88, of Springfield died at 5:10 p.m. on Sunday, January 3, 2010 at Memorial Medical Center. Dorothy was born July 8, 1921 in Springfield the daughter of Edward and Martha Krueger Brockschmidt. She married Joseph Allison in 1941 in Springfield. He preceded her in death in 1999. Dorothy was a self-employed hairdresser and enjoyed playing golf. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and one sister. She is survived by her daughter Sandy (husband, Bert) Cooper of Fall Brook, CA; her son Larry (wife, Marie) Allison of Warsaw, KY; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. Memorial ceremony will be on Wednesday, January, 6, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Hickory Glen, 1700 West Washington St., Springfield, IL 62702 with Tom Novy, Chaplain of Lewis Memorial Christian Village, officiating.
