Donald G. Miller, 68, of Springfield, died at 4:41 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2003 at Baptist DeSoto Hospital in Southaven, Mississippi. Donald was born December 18, 1934 in Colfax, Illinois the son of Noble C. and Lucille Vetter Miller. He married Shirley Bauman June 16, 1956 in Bloomington. Mr. Miller retired in 1991 from the Secretary of State as an administrator of data processing. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1957-1959. He was a charter member and past president of Prop Club. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church. He was an avid sports fan, his favorites were the Cubs and the Illini teams. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Shirley of Springfield; two sister: Joyce Ackley of Springfield, Pat (husband, Elden) Bayles of Normal; one brother: Richard (wife, Barb) Miller of Bloomington and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home from 5-8:00 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2003. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2003 at St. Agnes Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Patrick J. Wright celebrant. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2003 at Camp Butler National Cemetery where the Interveterans Burial of Sangamon County will conduct military honors.
