Diana R. Dowdy, 58, of Springfield, passed away on July 13, 2021 at St. John’s Hospital. She was born on November 17, 1962 in Galesburg to Melvin and Charlene Higgins. Diana married Clint Dowdy on August 13, 1999 in Springfield and he survives.
Mrs. Dowdy is also survived by her father, Melvin Higgins; three children: Pamela Novak of Chatham, IL, Michael (Jennifer) Novak of Estero, FL, and John Novak of Hannibal, MO, four grandchildren: Jaiden Dibble, Mary Jane Novak, Violet Mika Novak, Gwendolyn Novak; brother Melvin (Kay) Higgins, Jr. and sisters Doreen Higgins and Darlene (Chris) Plue. She was preceded in death by her mother, Charlene Higgins.
Diana worked as a hostess/server for several restaurants in Springfield. She enjoyed spending time with family, collecting candy dishes, and scratching lottery tickets!
A visitation will be held from 3:00pm until 5:00pm on Monday, July 19, 2021 at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 East Allen Street. Cremation rites will be accorded.
