Debra L. Murphy, 67, of Springfield, passed away on Saturday December 19, 2020 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born on January 6, 1953 in Beardstown to William Pate and Mary Campbell. Debra married Donald Murphy on June 30, 1975 in Springfield and they later divorced.
Mrs. Murphy is survived by her children Steve (Beth) Murphy of Indiana and Charla (Kevin Glasscock) Murphy of Springfield, eight grandchildren: Zachary, Nicholas and Hannah Murphy and Aryana, Christian, Abigayle, Ashley and Rikiyia Glasscock, two sisters: Becky Pate and Sally Hampton and one brother Rodney Pate. She was preceded in death by her brother Randy Pate.
Debra worked as a waitress and bartender at several Springfield establishments and she also had an in house home daycare for over fifteen years. She was a fun and energetic person who loved to play darts and sing to her children and grandchildren.
