Corinne Mae Palmer

Corinne Mae Palmer, 87, of Springfield, died at 12:09 p.m. on Monday, October 7, 2013 at St. John's Hospice. Corinne was born June 28, 1926 in Springfield, the daughter of Archie and Anna Rau Griffith. She married Donald E. Palmer on August 26, 1950 in Springfield, he survives. Corinne worked at Franklin Life Insurance Company and was a loving mother and grandmother who was devoted to her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Lynn Owen Palmer; and one brother, William Griffith. She is survived by one son, Gary A. (wife, Connie) Palmer of Springfield; one daughter, Karen (husband, Allen) Henson of Mahomet; two nieces and one nephew she raised as her own, Judy Groskin, Patricia White, and Craig Palmer; six grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral ceremony at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 11, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, with Rev. Vaughn Beeman officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice or St. John's Hospice, 800 E.
