Chris was born, March 12, 1969 in Springfield, the daughter of Richard and Marilyn (Sprinkle) Chapman. She graduated from Springfield Southeast High School and then earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from Sangamon State University, now University of Illinois at Springfield.
She was a mortgage underwriter for various financial institutions.
Chris married Eric B. “Rick” Romager, May 13, 2000 and he preceded her in death, December 28, 2021. She was also preceded in death by her grandparents.
Chris has a passion for her family. Her greatest joy came from following her children in all their endeavors. She was a #1 fan of Pleasant Plains Athletics, and a big supporter of the teams that Rick coached. She was a diehard St. Louis Cardinal Fan, and Chicago Bears Fan. She loved NASCAR and especially Matt Kenseth. She was a longtime, devoted and faithful member of West Side Christian Church.
Chris is survived by her children: Logan, Raegan and Aubrey Romager all of Springfield, and Jordan Romager of Pittsburgh, PA, her parents, Richard and Marilyn Chapman, her sister, April (Brian) McDonough of Hopatcong, NJ, two nieces, Gabriel and Abigail McDonough, a dear friend, Patrick Friedmeyer and a host of extended family and friends.
Cremation Rites will be accorded by the Bisch Crematory prior to services. A memorial gathering will be in the West Side Christian Church Auditorium 2850 Cider Mill, Springfield, IL on Sunday, November 12, 2023 from 12 noon until 2:45 pm. A memorial service with Pastor Eddie Lowen officiating will follow at 3:00 pm in the auditorium.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish may direct memorial contributions to the Romager Family Education Fund c/o INB Bank, Springfield.
