Carol Lee Shipman

Carol Lee Shipman, 89, of Springfield, passed away on December 17, 2022 at her residence. She was born on August 25, 1933 in Springfield to Everett Francis Lindquist and Bernice Mochel. Carol married Charles Shipman and he preceded her in death on January 31, 2005.

Mrs. Shipman is survived by two daughters: Beth Ann Butler of Athens and Sharon Lee Knox of Springfield, four granddaughters: Shelby Butler of Riverton, Ashliegh Butler of Athens and Laura and Kaitlin Knox of Springfield, three step-grandsons: Corey, Chris and Casey Butler, several great-grandchildren and one sister Donna Connelly of little Rock, Arkansas

Carol worked as a church secretary, a legal secretary and retired as an Administrative Officer for the United States Attorney’s Office. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, reading, golfing, shoe shopping, fishing and camping and she loved to spoil her grandchildren more than anything. Carol also knitted and was a talented seamstress. She did a lot of charity work in Mexico and she was a very loving and strong woman who enjoyed a good laugh.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday December 22, 2022 at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 East Allen Street, with burial to follow at Rochester Cemetery.
