Carol was born August 20, 1944, in Santa Ana, CA, the daughter of Carl Rosson and Peggy Cotton Rosson.
She was of the Catholic faith and was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Parish, where she served on the RCIA Team, was a RCIA sponsor, and a member of the Cathedral Council of Catholic Women.
Carol worked for the Hospital Sisters Health System and St. Francis Convent for 19 years. She served as Executive Director of the Springfield Pregnancy Care Center from 2000 until her retirement in 2010. Carol continued working part-time in the years that followed for Weight Watchers and St. John’s Home Health.
She loved to sew, making wedding gowns, baptismal gowns, and many other items. Her Covid project was making colorful masks for family and friends. Carol was generous to a fault, contributing time, skill, and resources as she was able. She also enjoyed knitting, crafts, and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Jon L. Morgan; her daughter, Becky L. Morgan; and a great-granddaughter, Madison Joy Rhoads.
Carol is survived by her granddaughter, Debra (Derek Rhoads); grandson, Robert Weible; two great-grandsons, Phoenix and Callen Rhoads; and many wonderful friends.
Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.
Visitation and Memorial Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, IL. A memorial ceremony will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Peter Chineke, officiating.
Private family burial will be held.
