C. Patrick Gaffney

Pat was born on June 13, 1930 in Springfield, the son of Charles Bartlett and Elizabeth M. Murphy Gaffney. He married Theresa M. Long on April 30, 1960 in Illiopolis, IL.

Pat was a graduate of Cathedral Boys High School, class of 1948. He went on to attend Springfield Junior College. A veteran of the United States Army, he served from 1951-1953 as a Staff Sergeant. Pat was employed for 15 years with Pillsbury, then farmed and raised livestock in the Nokomis and Ramsey area. He enjoyed rooting for the Chicago Bears and following SHG sports.

He was preceded in death by his son, Brian T. Gaffney; his parents; and two brothers, John R. and Joseph B. Gaffney.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa M. Gaffney of Loami; two sons, Patrick (wife, Kathryn) Gaffney of Nokomis, IL and Michael J. (wife, Joanie) Gaffney of Springfield; two siblings, Louis (wife, Katherine) of Crystal Lake, IL and Lawrence “Larry” (wife, Janet) Gaffney of Springfield; 7 grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
