Brian W. Spangler

Brian W. Spangler, 72, of Pleasant Plains, died at 9:16 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at his home. Brian was born August 11, 1942 in Mechanicsburg, the son of Leonard and Hazel Burgess Spangler. Brian graduated from Tri-City High School in 1961 and was employed with the United States Post Office for over 33 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Church in New Berlin and enjoyed horse races, fishing, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sherry Spangler; brother, Robert Spangler; and three sisters, Alma Wilson, Freida Bell, and Judy Spangler. He is survived by his two daughters, Shelly (husband, Tom Blahofski) Dorris of Pleasant Plains and Sheila (husband, Mike) Cowles of Springfield; and three grandchildren, Wes Dorris, and Jordan and Drew Cowles. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Graveside Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 13, 2015 at Mechanicsburg Cemetery with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating.
