Brad Lyman, 65, of Springfield, died at 9:55 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at St. John's Hospice. Brad was born November 10, 1950 in Pittsfield, the son of Russell Lynn and Katie Marie Dirksmeyer Lyman. He married Jeanne Finken on February 20, 1971 in Harlan, IA. Brad was a graduate of Pittsfield High School and was a star athlete on the track and football teams. He attended Northeast Missouri State University. From 1989-2007, Brad was a respected employee at Garrett Aviation, where he refurbished the interiors of corporate jets. He was an accomplished story teller and enjoyed learning about history. He possessed volumes of historical facts and trivia that he shared with many. Brad had a great sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Timothy Lyman. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Lyman of Springfield; one daughter, McKenzie (husband, Michael) Youakim of Naperville; two granddaughters, Sydney and Samantha; three siblings, Terry (wife, Deanna) Lyman of St. Louis, MO, Tom Lyman of the Pittsfield area, and Carolyn (husband, Ron) Grosenheider of Kampsville; and several nieces and nephews. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following ceremonies. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 4, 2016 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Deacon David Erdmann officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
