She was born October 26, 1946, the daughter of Everett G. and Helen L. Cearlock. She married her college sweetheart, Thomas E. Myers, on March 3, 1968.
Bonnie was a graduate of Springfield High School and Western Illinois University. She was an educator her entire career, working at Ben Franklin Middle School, Adult Education, Rochester High School, and the Resource Center at Lincoln Land Community College. Bonnie was a native of the Rochester and Springfield communities, and a proud member of the Protestant faith. She enjoyed reading, attending concerts and theater productions, traveling, and above all, spending time with her children and grandchildren. Bonnie loved music of all types and developed a better understanding of rap, after seeing “Hamilton”. Her connections with her family and dear friends, some dating back over 60+ years, symbolized Bonnie’s sentiment, “One thing I’ve learned is that “things” are far less meaningful than relationships”.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Thomas Myers; sons, Patrick (Erin) Myers and Steve (Melanie) Myers; sister, Lori (Earl) Doage; brother, Mark (Trenna) Cearlock; grandchildren, Abby and Alex Myers; nephews, Andy Cearlock and Nick (Misty) Doage; and niece, Megan (Anwar) Gaston.
Bonnie was the most caring, thoughtful person to everyone she met and always had a smile and a hug when she saw you. You will be always loved, never forgotten, and forever missed.
