Bobbie Ruth Miller

Bobbie was born December 27, 1934, in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Walter and Mildred (McCarty) Mathis. She was married to the love of her life, Clarence "Butch" Miller on May 31, 1952 at 3rd Presbyterian Church in Springfield. They shared 56 years of marriage together until he preceded her in death on November 16, 2008.

Also preceding her in death were her parents, Walter and Mildred Mathis, a sister, Dorothy Bentley, two brothers, Donald (Donna) and Warren (Betty) Mathis, a nephew, Donnie Mathis, a nephew, David Bentley and a niece, Diane Bentley.

She is survived by two daughters Kathy Gasser and Karen (Tim) Kraemer, three grandchildren Cari Rogers, Terrah Graves and Jared Graves. Bobbie is also survived by two great granddaughters Audrey and Brooke Rogers, one great grandson Wendell Graves and one nephew Danny (Dawn) Mathis.

Bobbie graduated from Lanphier High School in 1952 and attended Lincoln Land Community College. She retired from AT&T and the Illinois Hospital Association. Bobbie was an active member of South Side Christian Church. She was a member of the telephone Pioneers and Peace by Piece Quilt Club. She enjoyed her family, church, many friends and her quilting.

Services will be under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at South Side Christian Church, 2600 South MacArthur Blvd, at 10:30 a.m. Monday February 6, 2023. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service Monday at church. Interment will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
