Beverly was born on April 14, 1934, in Springfield, the daughter of Charles J. and Dorothy Mae (Lemmons) Baumann. She married John “Ken” Bailey on November 29, 1974, in Hannibal, MO. He preceded her in death on January 30, 2009.
Beverly graduated from Springfield High School in 1952 and afterwards attended Brown’s Business College. She worked for Springfield Clinic as a Medical Transcriptionist until her retirement. Beverly then worked as an Administrative Assistant for her daughter’s McDonalds franchise. She was a member of Red Hat Society and was Queen for Red Hat Mama’s for 10 years, and she volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House. Beverly enjoyed hummingbirds, and gardening, but her number one joy in life was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren
Beverly was also preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Dustin Allen Mack; brothers, Gary Lee and Edward Charles Baumann; and aunt, Kaye Flemming.
She is survived by her children, Greg (Patsy) Stratton of Springfield, Karen (Steven) Jeffers of Collierville, TN, Sherri (George) Diaz of Brambleton, VA, Sheila Mack Wisnasky of Springfield, Edward C. (Kaye) Stratton of Trappe, MD, Brenda Tucker of Springfield, Jay Bailey of St. Louis, MO, Jeff (Tonya) Bailey of Miami, FL, Jon (Dina) Bailey of Springfield, and Jim (Amy) Bailey of Springfield; 23 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Private family ceremonies were held with burial at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
