Betty Jeanne Scott, 70, of Springfield, died at 10:21 a.m., Wednesday, July 20, 2005 at St. John’s Hospital. Betty was born May 27, 1935 in Springfield the daughter of LaRue and Elsie Buelter Smith. Ms. Scott was a homemaker and loved to go fishing. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter: Carla Johnson and brother: Albert Smith. She is survived by five daughters: Helen Albert of Springfield, Cindy Reed of Lincoln, Deborah (husband, Tim) Entrekin of Whohenwald TN, Susan Scott of Clinton and Teena Scott of Springfield; fifteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters: Mary (husband, Ben) Williams of Chatham, Alice Copeland of Springfield; two brothers: Richard (wife, Pat) Smith of Springfield, Robert Smith of Springfield and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Cremation will be accorded by the Cremation Tribute Center, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. No services are planned at this time.
