Betty J. Mayfield-Easley, 91, of Springfield, passed away on April 13, 2023 at her residence. She was born on February 29, 1932 in Springfield to Walter Rowe and Katherine Johnston. Betty married Louis A. Casper and he passed away in 1971. She married Donald Mayfield and he passed away in 2002. Betty married Robert Easley and he passed away in 2012.
Mrs. Mayfield-Easley is survived by five grandchildren: John (Bettianne) Casper of Springfield, Crystal Trent of Decatur, Jenifer Anderson of Lincoln, Ronald Casper Jr., of Decatur and Jacob Casper of Geneva, Ohio and nine great-grandchildren: Duncan and Josephine Casper, Evan Etchison and Haley Pate, Hayden and Addison Casper, Brandon Casper, Katherine Henke and Emmaleigh Anderson and two great-great grandchildren: Piper and Alice Cunningham. She was preceded in death by four children: Lawrence Casper, Ronald Casper Sr., Constance Casper and James Casper.
Betty worked for Nutronic Manufacturing Company. She was a member of the Navy Club and the VFW Auxiliary, she was the Commander of the Disabled American Veterans Club Auxiliary and she was President of the AMVETS in Florida.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30am on Thursday April 20, 2023 at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 East Allen Street with burial to follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 10:30am until the time of service Thursday at Bisch and Son.
