Betty was born January 7, 1930, in Farmersville, the daughter of Marion “Bud” and Myrtle Sharp Brown. She married Bernard Brown on October 20, 1951; he preceded her in death in 2003. She married Ivan Burnett on September 27, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church in Springfield; he preceded her in death on May 20, 2013.
Betty was a graduate of Farmersville High School. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. During her career, Betty worked with the Illinois Department of Mental Health and was the secretary of Woodside Methodist Church. She was a past officer of the Christian Women’s Club and served at the state and local levels of the United Commercial Travelers of America. Betty was a Sunday School teacher for many years.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Donald E. Brown and sister, Lois Brockmeyer.
She is survived by her brother, David (wife, Linda) Brown of Raymond; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Private family graveside ceremonies will be held at Woodwreath Cemetery near New Berlin.
